Yesterday (Saturday) DJ and Michelle walked an exhausting 14 miles through the city! It started with a subway ride into the financial district where we were warned by a street (or subway) preacher against fornication, adultery, and homosexuality, and other sins. It was quite entertaining. DJ considered standing and quoting the Isaiah scriptures with the man, just because he could.

We walked through the financial district and saw where Michelle will be working this summer. We walked along the peirs of the Hudson river and looked across to the statue of liberty and Ellis Island, two places we want to be sure to visit. We walked to ground zero and saw the mess that still remains after 9/11. We then walked to the Brooklyn Bridge, the first suspension bridge of it's size at the time and a major milestone in U.S. engineering. The bridge was full of people, masses and masses of people! We then walked to China town and to Little Italy where we had a fabulous dinner of authentic Italian cuisine. Wow, we were in heaven! After gelato and pastry for dessert we walked the streets of Manhattan for a few more blocks before we cought the subway to Time Square. We visited the Toy's R Us store and the m&m store and then trudged our way back home. A full and fun day of adventuring in the city!
